Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering

Siam Altman

I am a mechanical engineering student with an aerospace track at Colorado School of Mines, specializing in computer-aided design, finite element analysis, and computational programming. My academic and professional experience spans CAD modeling using SolidWorks, structural analysis, high-power rocketry, and software development using Python, MATLAB, and LabVIEW.

Through coursework and hands-on projects, I have developed proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), manual machining operations, 3D printing, and simulation-based design optimization. My internship experience at Lockheed Martin provided exposure to aerospace systems engineering and mission analysis, where I performed orbital mechanics calculations and launch window optimization studies.

My Motivation

"I've been trying to devote my life to helping get humanity to space."

That drive extends to everything I do. I spend dozens of hours every week on my clubs, jobs, and hobbies, not just because it improves my knowledge, but because helping other people and contributing to systems and organizations brings me genuine joy.

It's not just about the technical work. It's about the interface between people, parts, and data. Good operations is simple on purpose. Refining workflows, managing individuals, and staying involved with backend operations is where I'm at today. And it's exactly where I want to be.
